Over at IGNANT.de I came across the impressives series entitled ‘Cut Food’ created by Food Photographer Beth Galton and Food Stylist Charlotte Omnès. According to Beth, the series was originally inspired by an assignment in which they were required to cut a burrito in half for their client. They then decided to take it a step further providing a peek at food in a way that defies gravity – slicing it right down the middle in whatever container it’s normally found in.

Zoo Portraits by Barcelona based Yago Partal is a brilliant collection of animals in clothes. The only sad part about it is that these animals have more class and style than I do The images are available as print here.

Norwegian Photographer Ole Brodersen and his series “Trespassing” explores encounters between human and nature. Human-made objects are placed into a landscape, where their interactions with the natural elements are recorded.

The choice of materials for these interventions is indicative. Using mostly found materials, like rope, old sail-cloth, and nails, which are joined by other, somewhat “lesser” materials like Styrofoam, LED-lights and rubber balloons. These fragments are tracing out a human presence, one that is systematically lacking in these series.”

Depicted as silhouettes, the photographic series titled ‘Naked Silhouette Alphabet‘ by Greek Anastasia Mastrakouli utilizes the naked body to highlight the dialectical relationship between anatomy and visual art.

So this seems to be the new photo trend brewing amongst youths in Japan right now. The trend involves taking pictures of teens who appear to be releasing invisible energy that sends their peers flying. The photo mania is especially popular amongst schoolgirls who started the trend by uploading images on Twitter and labeling them as “Makankosappo“, a reference to a special attack in the popular manga-turned-anime Dragon Ball series.
