Over at Highsnobiety we came across these cool and custom Rolex watches; the Beetle Bailey Rolex Submariner Watch and a Popeye The Sailor Rolex Yacht Master Watch. Both watches come with a black PVD coating, both metal and canvas straps, and of course a comic graphic on the dial. They also added a unique packaging to the watches, celebrating the Army and Navy, as well as adding custom comic strips to them.
The Army vs Navy Watch Collection will be released in very limited numbers at colette (Paris), Dover Street Market (London and Tokyo), Lane Crawford (Hong Kong), Exit (Hong Kong), E-Collezione (Singapore).

it’s pretty esaarrbmsing if you ask me. The Swiss are so proud of their horological heritage and then the entire country goes and tweaks the same four or five generic 300$ ETA movements to sell them at a 1,000% markup, with the biggest brands even portraying the movement as an in-house movement.It’s a scam is what it is.Bought a Seiko Alpinist; same materials, same quality of finish, same accuracy as any of the 3,000$ Swiss offerings, but 100% made in-house and at 1/8th the price.
