Would a bicycle made of cardboard change transport habits in everything from the world’s busiest cities to the poorest parts of Africa? If you ask Israeli inventor and bicycle enthusiast Izhar Gafni, the answer is yes. The Israeli inventor has previously worked with mass production, and he believe that within six months the bicycle is ready for the consumers.
It’s easy to build a bike out of cardboard, and it may well be both strong and durable. But to find the correct formula has been extremely difficult. I had to figure out how to fold the cardboard in several different directions. It took me 1.5 years with lots of tests and failed attempts before I found the right method, “says Izhar Gafni,
